    • Re: CSLA Project Sample

No disrespect taken :) I've posted numerous times on the forum that ProjectTracker is tied to book projects, not to CSLA release schedules. As such, it is being updated as we speak, and the updates will be in some future CSLA release. The fastest/best way to get the stereotypes right now is to buy...

    • Re: ProjectTracker.Library.SI and WP unavailable

Two things. First, ProjectTracker is not currently a good example, as it is broken. I'm actively updating it for use in the last three books of the Using CSLA 4 ebook series, so I expect CSLA 4.2 will include a working ProjectTracker. Second, if the projects won't open, it is probably because...

    • Re: ProjectTracker futures

I really do appreciate the support for ProjectTracker, and while I have removed all the other non-updated samples from the Samples folders, I've kept even the non-functioning ProjectTracker there because I do intend on updating it. It has not proven to be a good example for the first four ebooks...

    • Samples Missing Files

I can't find a number of files referenced in the solution for 4.1.0\Sampes\NET\cs\ExtedableWcfPortalForDotNet. Rolodex.WPF\Bootstrapper.cs, Constants.cs. The Events, Module folders are empty... Is there a reason the files are missing?

    • Re: Why 'PTWpf' Project was deleted from ProjectTrackers Solution? CSLA 4.0.1

ProjectTracker is the sample for my business objects books. This means I update ProjectTracker when I write the books, and that happens after the framework is stable. In other words, ProjectTracker is usually not a great sample for CSLA until after the book comes out. I am currently working on the book...

    • Re: char.IsLetter not a good test to exclude numbers

Thanks, that's good to know. Of course the sample isn't intended to have a great rule for detecting numerics - just to show how to build sync/async rules :) Fortunately I'm messing with that sample at the moment though (enhancing it for a talk I'm giving at the Visual Studio Live! conference...

    • Re: CSLA 4 RC1 available

I just confirmed that the Samples-4.0.0-100719.zip file does contain the RC1 samples. I removed all the samples that didn't build - we're out of time now, so I wanted to make sure that only CSLA 4 samples were in the download. There are several Silverlight C# samples that are fairly comprehensive...

    • Observer Pattern and BOs are Subject

Let me start simple. For example in "Project Tracker" example, if you open any project to edit you can see resources that assigned to this project, however, if you also open edit resource document with one of the resources already assigned to the project, the changes on resources, which is...

    • Re: Time to abandon LINQ to SQL in favour of Entity Framework?

Hi Rocky, I was just wondering if do you have a timetable for this PTracker sample app to be ported to EF, I'm interested to see how its "properly" done (ported correctly) considering the way the current design of PTracker. Thanks!

    • Updated Samples for CSLA .NET 4.0

I appears the samples for CLSA 4.0 Beta 1 are still based on the older version. I'm looking specifically at the ProjectTracker Library and the Authorization & Validation Rules. When will the samples be updated to the new manner of doing things?

    • Re: CSLA 4 Preview 4 available

I've got a new Silverlight 4 project I need to get started on. I was thinking of trying to use the CSLA 4.0 preview instead of a hacked 3.8. I installed the msi for the CSLA 4.0 preview but I can't get the 4.0 preview samples to compile. Specifically I've tried the SimpleApp and the Rolodex...

Anywayn I'm having a question: I was just trying to find out the difference between the following attributes: Csla.Silverlight.MobileFactory Csla.Server.ObjectFactory As I understood, the...

    • Steps for getting SL Rolodex sample to work

OK, I've spent half the day trying to get this thing working. I've followed the numerous threads here about things to configure. Every time I think "this must be it", I am foiled again! The app is launching fine, I get the login screen, but it always comes back with invalid. After the...
