    • CSLA 4.2.2: DataPortal.Create Failed

I'm using the Encapsulated Invoke DTO method, EF and SL (UI). I have a stored procedure that joins several tables which accepts an Id parameter of type Guid. It returns a list of records per Id. I've mapped the stored procedure with EF in VS2010 via Function Imports. If I pass the Id parameter...

    • CSLA 4.x ReadOnlyListBase sorting after populating from two different sources in list object

I have a scenario where I need to populate a read only list object from two different data sources. That's not a problem, I'm using encapsulated implementation and just issue two queries sequentially and populate the list first from the first query then secondly from the second query. The heart...

    • Synchronizing ReadOnlyList with EditableBusinessObject

      Hello, given the following business and UI layer: PersonInfo : ReadOnlyBase<PersonInfo> PersonInfoList : ReadOnlyListBase<PersonInfoList, PersonInfo> PersonEdit : BusinessBase<PersonEdit> PeopleListViewModel : ViewModel<PersonInfoList> PersonEditViewModel : ViewModel<PersonEdit>...

    • CSLA ObservableBindingList<T> causes System.Xml.XmlException due to auto property

I think I came across an issue in Csla.Core.ObservableBindingList<T>. Any derived business objects (like anything derived from ReadOnlyListBase<>) throws a System.Xml.XmlException when it's serialized across the wire in WCF. It seems to be due to the auto properties of AllowEdit, AllowNew...

    • CSLA 4.1 performance issue

I have a table of around 15 columns, with a few hundred records, potentially going to thousands. I present the user with a "search" form, so that they can select a record to work with. Using a ReadOnlyListBase/ReadOnlyBase combination, I populate a BindingSource, and bind that to a listbox...

    • Silverlight, ReadOnlyListBase and Managed backing fields

Hi If my understanding is correct CSLA for Silverlight (I'm currently using 3.8.4) has to make use of managed backing fields in order for serialization to work correctly. My problem is that the "parent" in a read only list does not seem to have acces to "RegisterProperty". How...

    • TreeView

Hi. I am searching a sample how I can bind a ReadOnlyList to a TreeView. In the list, there are hierarchial-Data. This are Group-Objects and they have a Property ParentGroup. Perhaps someone can provide a sample? Thank you! Best Regards, Thomas

    • Filter ReadOnlyList

    • Re: Exception: AddNewCore must be overridden

For AddNew to work, you need to implement AddNewCore. Normally AddNewCore uses the public parameterless constructor, but in Csla you almost never have that (except in SL, I think). That said, I'm not sure why you'd be calling AddNew on a ROLB class.. AddNew is for grids to add a new row that...

    • Add <ALL> to ReadOnlyList

I have a question on the best way to approach using a ReadOnlyList (or NameValueList) with two differing requirements. Let's say I have a list of product Categories. I want to use it in two different ways: 1. As a drop down list when the user adds a new product. He/She can then select only one from...

    • Using LINQ to sort a ReadOnly list

I have CountryInfoList which is a ReadOnlyListBase<CountryInfoList, ICountryInfo>. This class implements both it's own interface ICountryInfoList and IReportTotalRowCount. I am attempting to sort a list of type ICountryInfoList using LINQ, but get "Can't resolve symbol OrderBy"...
