    • Re: Similiar DataBinding... Understanding....

You need to make sure the events flow back properly. When you change the child object, presumably your property set calls PropertyHasChanged()? That should trigger the child to raise an event which is ignored by data binding, but is used by the collection (BusinessListBase-derived?). The BLB object should automatically raise its ListChanged event -

    • Re: ASP.NET 2.0 - ReadOnlyListBase or BusinessListBase

I've thought that, for this type of scenario, having a new collection type wouldn't be all bad. Something like LiveListBase - because the list would be "live" against the data store. This class would inherit from List<T> and would implement only DataPortal_Fetch(). <Serializable()> _ Public Class WebListBase( Of C As Csla.BusinessBase( Of

    • Re: Overuse of Reflection

This is a pretty common question, and I answered it here for CSLA .NET 1.x. The answer remains fundamentally the same for version 2.0. Though in version 2.0 the use of reflection is (I think) even more justified because it allows the business developer to write strongly typed DataPortal_XYZ methods. An interface-based approach would force a return to

    • Re: PropertyHasChanged Combo

I think you misread what I was showing. It is true that ProjectTracker has a couple properties where CheckRules() is called explicitly - but that is against a different property from the one being set. Specifically, the Started and Ended properties in Project do this. The reason is that these two properties have a co-dependant validation rule (Started<

    • Re: thank you, Rocky!! plan to migrate all the archives, or, just search both?

I know that I don't have the time to figure out how to migrate the old content to Community Server. If someone wants to figure out how to do this I'm certainly open to the idea. CS 2.0 runs against a SQL 2005 database, so it might be possible for someone to write a direct database import of some sort - I don't know. Regarding the structure of the new
