[CSLA 4.5.3 in a WinRT app.] I've got a BusinessBase parent object that has three object properties: one BusinessBase, one BusinessListBase and one ReadOnlyListBase. When I save the view, my VM does the following: Model.ApplyEdit(); Model.MyBaseObject = await Model.MyBaseObject.SaveAsync(); Model...

    • Re: Caching mobile object in WinRT

When you say 'cache' do you mean in memory or to disk? If you mean to disk, that's a little tricky because the serializer (MobileFormatter) is version sensitive in terms of the assemblies. So if you update your app code to a newer assembly version the cache will be unreadable. If you are...

    • Caching mobile object in WinRT

Im looking to Cache CSLA objects in WinRT, can I use the same serialization used to copy mobile object from the server to the windows 8 application? Is there an example of that somewhere?

    • Re: Broken Rule for 1 property

By "Win8" do you mean WinRT? Some features of the WinRT runtime are more similar to Silverlight 2 than to modern XAML. As a result the PropertyInfo control uses the SL2 binding scheme because the modern binding scheme can't be implemented :( <csla:PropertyInfo Name="blah" Source...

    • Re: WInRT's WebAuthenticationBroker for Authentication

I tried that and then changed my mind and tried to do the same as in the code that comes with the data-portal book, so basically I authenticate with the WebAuthenticationBroker and I send the token to the backend so I can get the username using CustomPrincipal.BeginLogin(auth.AuthenticationType, token...

    • Re: Peer to Peer WinRT?

CSLA doesn't include or prevent the use of peer-to-peer concepts. It is neutral on the concept. I don't think you can host a receiver/server on WinRT, but maybe you can - I've never tried. If you figure it out, you should blog about it, because this is something I haven't seen documented...

    • Re: WinRT config for WCF

Ok I downloaded the sample app and tried it, I get this after fixing the CSLA references with NUGET {"Object type or assembly could not be loaded (Library.CustomerEdit, Library, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null)"} '((Csla.DataPortalException)($exception)).BusinessException'...

    • WinRT config for WCF

we are new with CSLA and WinRT and we are building an LOB app, evaluating CSLA. I built a proof of concept with CSLA and WinRT, the problem is, it seems that the configuration in the application to connect to CSLA Business Object on the WCF server is wrong or blocked or something, it just hang ... Do...

    • Re: WinRT - call to async CSLA factory method causes delay in rendering

I have had difficulties with initializing the model in the constructor, though in your code I'd expect it to work. But you can't mark a constructor as async, so you can't use await there. Because of this, the 4.5 ViewModelBase now includes an InitAsync method so you can do this in your UI...
