• Re: More Windows DataBinding Woes

Jonny is right, but it sounds like you've already dug into the Using CSLA .NET 3.0 ebook in some depth and probably have the basic concept. If you want a top-level Cancel button, you need to manually call BeginEdit on the root object before you bind it to the UI . And then you need to unbind the...

    • More Windows DataBinding Woes

Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong please...? My problem relates to WinForms databinding and its relationship with a CSLA business object. In fact its CSLA business objects that in turn contain child collections that are really causing me trouble. I fully understand about the need to disconnect...

    • Re: IBindingList support and DevExpress Grids
So when should you class inherit from BusinessListBase verses BusinessBindingListBase? They are both still available.
It is a sad situation Microsoft and the datagrid vendors have created. When Microsoft decided that WPF wouldn't fully support IBindingList...

    • Re: Cannot bind an unregistered property in xaml: a bug or a new CSLA4's behaviour?

Basic binding should work ok (not great) against the two properties you implemented. Since they don't raise PropertyChanged events (you aren't calling OnPropertyChanged for them) your data binding experience will be somewhat substandard - but you can address that by just adding OnPropertyChanged...

    • Re: Validation of a BLB

The problem with adding rules actually in the collection itself, is that there's no way to express those rules into the UI. There is no data binding mechanism by which a collection can say it is invalid. In other words, I could implement a rules mechanism in BLB - and then you could write your rules...

    • Handling Property Changes Within The UI

Hi, I wonder if anyone could offer me some advice on this please:- I have an issue in relation to Windows Forms data binding and some of my business object properties. • Re: Help with Save and Update in Winforms MDI App

The best and most detailed information on dealing with Windows Forms is in the Using CSLA .NET 3.0 ebook - there's a chapter on the topic in that ebook. The basic thing to remember is that you must always properly unbind all business objects from the UI before attempting to save. The CslaActionExtender...
