    • Re: How should references be set up for Silverlight project with 4.0.0 preview 2?

I'll be doing another preview release soon - next week some time. That should help on the SL4 side of things. The previous prerelease was mostly focused on .NET, because SL4 was still very immature at the time - but obviously things have changed rapidly in the past couple months, and both .NET 4...

    • Entity Framework 4.0

Has someone already dived into using EF 4.0? EF4 has POCO (Code Only) support which could be good in combination with Csla. I wonder if it would be possible to let an ContextBuilder wrap an CSLA BO and use an EntityConfiguration for mapping the CSLA BO to one or more db tables. How do u guys see "EF4...

    • Re: Criteria with validation

ICriteria is being removed because the non-generic data portal methods are being removed, so there's no need for you to pass type information through the criteria. The data portal already has the type information. So it is lifting a restriction. In the current CSLA 4 bits any serializable object...

    • Re: "No overload for method 'GetValue' takes 2 arguments" error when building Csla 4.0

This is in the Csla.Web.Mvc project, and occurs because you don't have the same version of ASP.NET MVC 2 we're currently using (or that we were using when that particular code was created). The problem is that ASP.NET MVC 2 is changing rapidly, and it is not in sync with VS10 or .NET 4 - nor...

    • Updated change log for 4.0

I'm in a spot where it is virtually impossible to do a meaningful preview release of CSLA 4 code. So people who are interested can keep up to date, I have updated the change log with the latest feature changes. There are some pretty interesting changes to think about. The reason I can't easily...

    • Re: Binding WPF Page to Csla Object

Thank you for the reply. I was able to bind to the object and my data is saving, but I'm still having some trouble implementing the CslaDataProvider (would like to for the error handling if nothing else). Your first reply raises a bigger question. What would you recommend for an internet accessible...

    • Binding WPF Page to Csla Object

Writting a WPF Browser Application. Is there an example on how to bind a xaml page to a csla object? I am guessing I need to use the new Csla.Xaml? Below is a code snippet from my page. I am getting an "Unable to load the metadata for assembly 'Csla.Xaml'.... Could not load file or assembly...

    • ActionExtender Rebinding Issue

I've had a look on the forums and haven't found anything being raised about this problem. When using the ActionExtender to perform the save operations for you and an error occurs, the object is not rebound to the BindingSource and therefore the ActionExtender essentially stops operating because...

    • Re: Input requested: Business rule subsystem

I hadn't thought about removing FriendlyName. DataAnnotations has an attribute for a display/friendly name. Ideally that attribute would be used as the source value for a friendly name - and it supports localization. So perhaps the answer is to provide a function (maybe in the BusinessRule base class...

    • Re: Input requested: Business rule subsystem

True - at the moment the types are not generic, so the Target property is of type object. I tried making the types generic, but that seemed to be complicating things substantially. The reason is that in the end the only place you care about Target being a specific type is in the rule itself. That implies...
